How to Keep Your Wallet Looking Its Best
A few simple habits can help a wallet stay organised and presentable. The right care depends on its material, so begin with the manufacturer's instructions whenever they are available.

Keep only what you need
Too many cards, receipts and coins can stretch pockets and put pressure on seams. Review your wallet regularly and remove old receipts, expired cards and anything you no longer need to carry.
Clean gently
For fabric or synthetic materials, start with a soft, dry cloth. If the care label allows damp cleaning, use a lightly damp cloth and test a hidden area first. Avoid soaking the wallet or applying strong cleaners, bleach or alcohol unless the manufacturer specifically recommends them.
Give leather appropriate care
Leather types and finishes vary. Keep leather away from prolonged moisture and direct heat, and use only a conditioner that is suitable for the specific finish. Test products on a discreet spot first and follow the product instructions.
Store it thoughtfully
When not in use, empty the wallet and keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid compressing it under heavy objects. Let a damp accessory dry naturally rather than placing it on a heater or using a hair dryer.
Look after the details
Check stitching, edges, zips and snaps occasionally. If a closure begins to catch, do not force it; remove excess contents and inspect for trapped material. Early attention may prevent further wear.
Care checklist
- Follow the material's care label.
- Remove unnecessary cards and receipts.
- Keep it dry and away from excess heat.
- Test any cleaning product on a hidden area.
- Store it without bending or crushing it.
